From March through the last Sunday in December before Christmas, old-style trolleys run on Sundays from about noon to 6:30 p.m. along the MAX Light Rail line between Lloyd Center and SW 11th Avenue in downtown Portland. View the MAX route map

Trolleys serve the MAX stations along the route, except at Lloyd Center, where the Trolley has its own station located on 11th Avenue between NE Multnomah and NE Holladay (near the Doubletree Hotel).

Trolleys run every 30 minutes, and a round trip takes about 45 minutes.

Rides are free, but donations are accepted.

Accessibility

If you use a mobility device or have difficulty climbing steps, please board the Trolley at the Lloyd Center trolley station (NE 11th & Multnomah) or the Yamhill District MAX station. There is room for one wheelchair or scooter on each trolley.

About the Trolley

In 1991, Vintage Trolley, Inc., reintroduced trolley service to Portland with working replicas of the historic Council Crest streetcars that ran along Portland streets from 1904 to 1950. Learn more about the history of rail transit in Portland
